Star Wars: Galactic Racer to Launch in 2026 from Former Criterion Developers

At The Game Awards 2025, not only the acclaimed franchise **Tomb Raider** received attention, but also **Star Wars**. We’ve covered news about the role-playing game separately, while this piece focuses on the racing game **Star Wars: Galactic Racer**.

This project marks the first game from **Fuse Games**, a studio established by former leaders of **Criterion** in 2023. The team boasts experience with titles such as **Need for Speed** and **Burnout**.

As the New Republic works to revive the galaxy, the underworld thrives on gambling, entertainment, and the ambition for fame. Amid the chaos of the Outer Rim, the Galactic League has emerged—an illegal racing circuit where syndicates sponsor pilots, fortunes change hands in mere seconds, and only the bravest survive.

The story of **Galactic Racer** centers on a character named Shade, described by the developers as «a lone racer with dreams of fame and revenge.» To achieve his goals, he will pilot repulsorlift ships of various classes, ram and cut off opponents, and form alliances. The game will feature a campaign mode along with several other gameplay options.

**Star Wars: Galactic Racer** is set to launch in 2026 on PC (available on [Steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/4078430/STAR_WARS_Galactic_Racer/) and [Epic Games Store](https://store.epicgames.com/p/star-wars-galactic-racer-246fdc)), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Unfortunately, there will be no support for the Russian language.
