Windows 11 to Soon Explain Why Your PC Needs More RAM and a Better GPU

Microsoft is currently developing a new feature for Windows 11 that will explain how limited RAM or a weak graphics card can affect PC performance. The latest preview builds of Windows 11 include a new FAQ section within the system settings of the OS.

The company has yet to officially acknowledge its work on this feature. Currently, the option is hidden, but it can be manually activated in the latest Windows 11 builds.

This section offers answers to queries regarding insufficient RAM and provides recommendations for systems equipped with graphics cards that have less than 4 GB of memory. Additionally, if a user hasn’t updated Windows 11 to the latest version, this will also be noted in the section.

It remains unclear how frequently this FAQ summary will be updated.

Users can test this feature on the 26120.3576 or 22635.5090 builds. To try it out, one must download ViveTool from GitHub, extract the files, open a command prompt as an administrator, and navigate to the tool’s folder using the CD command. After that, users should enter vivetool /enable /id:55305888, press Enter, and then restart their device.

Microsoft utilizes a scoring system to assess the hardware of PCs running Windows Vista. The Windows Performance Index evaluates individual system components and provides an overall rating so users can understand how well their PC will perform with the latest versions of Windows.

The inclusion of this new feature in the Dev Channel builds suggests that it is likely to be rolled out to all Windows 11 users in the coming months. However, Microsoft sometimes cancels certain features that were previously available in the Dev Channel.
