Arshavin Responds to News About His Goal Against Germany Potentially Being Attributed to Kerzhakov

Former Zenit and Russian national team player **Andrei Arshavin** shared his views regarding the goal scored in a friendly match against Germany (which ended in a 2-2 draw) back in 2005, a goal that may now be credited to ex-forward **Alexander Kerzhakov**.

**Arshavin:** «I was the one who scored. No matter how much I respect Kerzhakov, it was my goal. I think we should give Kerzhakov an opportunity. I tell them, ‘Bring in the Trinidad and Tobago team; Kerzhakov will definitely score. He’s preparing for it.’ You can see he looks better now than he did when he was actively playing football.»
**Kerzhakov:** «What’s interesting is that I can score against any opponent.»
**Journalist:** «Really?»
**Kerzhakov:** «Of course. Especially when you’re not playing, you can say whatever you want,» said Arshavin and Kerzhakov in a video on the Fonbet YouTube channel.

Previously, it was reported that if this goal is credited to Alexander Kerzhakov, he would catch up with Artem Dzyuba, who surpassed Alexander in a match against Grenada in the spring of 2025. Kerzhakov himself mentioned that he would be pleased if that goal were officially awarded to him.
