Memorial Plaque Unveiled in St. Petersburg to Honor Legendary Zenit Coach Yuri Morozov

A memorial plaque has been unveiled in Saint Petersburg in honor of the former head coach of Zenit, **Yuri Morozov**. This information was shared by the official Telegram channel of the club from the banks of the Neva.

“The solemn ceremony dedicated to the legendary coach of the blue-white-blues took place on November 1, 2025. The event was organized to commemorate the 45th anniversary of Zenit’s first-ever medals in the national championship.

The plaque is located on the building at 13 Tverskaya Street, where the renowned Zenit coach lived. He led the team from 1977 to 1981, then again in 1991, and lastly from 2000 to 2002.

Celebrations marking Zenit’s achievement of bronze medals in the 1980 season will continue at Gazprom Arena: before the match against Lokomotiv, players from the legendary squad will meet fans, share stories about football in the 1980s, and answer audience questions.
