Karen Khachanov Withdraws from ATP 250 Tournament in Athens

The 14th-ranked Russian tennis player, Karen Khachanov, will not participate in the ATP 500 tournament in Athens, Greece, scheduled from November 2 to 8. His spot in the main draw will be taken by Dutch player Botic van de Zandschulp.

The tournament in Athens will feature the 24-time Grand Slam champion and world number five, Serbian Novak Djokovic, who will be the top seed in the competition.

In 2025, Karen Khachanov reached the final of the Masters tournament in Toronto, Canada, where he lost to American Ben Shelton in three sets: 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 6-7 (3-7). In doubles, alongside Andrey Rublev, Khachanov also reached the finals at the ATP 250 event in Hong Kong and the ATP 500 tournament in Beijing.
