Devastating Kyiv Drone Assault Claims Three Lives and Leaves Dozens Injured

A nighttime drone assault by Russia on Kyiv resulted in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to several others, as reported by the mayor of the Ukrainian capital on Sunday.

The head of Kyiv’s military administration indicated early Sunday that “multiple” Russian drones were active in the city and cautioned residents to “stay in shelters.”

Mayor Vitali Klitschko later reported, “based on initial information, three people have lost their lives and 27 have been injured” in the incident.

Among the injured, Klitschko mentioned that six were children, sharing the details on Telegram.

He noted that debris from the drones impacted a nine-story apartment building in the northeastern Desnyansky area, igniting fires in several units.

Additionally, fragments caused damage to another nine-story building in the same district, where five individuals were rescued, he added.

More drone debris also struck a 16-story residential building in the northern Obolonsky district, damaging one apartment, according to Klitschko.

These attacks occurred just a day after another round of Russian drone and missile strikes that resulted in four fatalities and approximately 20 injuries in Kyiv, as stated by Ukrainian officials.

On Saturday, U.S. President Donald Trump downplayed the chances of a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, remarking that he was “not going to be wasting my time.”

This statement came as Kremlin negotiator Kirill Dmitriev met with officials from the Trump administration, including special envoy Steve Witkoff, according to a Russian source familiar with the discussions. Talks were anticipated to continue on Sunday.
