Features of VSCO Capture

The VSCO Capture app offers a variety of camera functionalities for iPhone users. It includes the option to select from over 50 live photo filters, which are said to be influenced by retro, modern, and classic film aesthetics. These features can significantly lessen the editing work required after taking pictures.

Users are able to apply these filters as they compose their shots in real-time. The app also facilitates toggling between automatic and manual camera settings, allowing users to fine-tune their camera adjustments based on the compositions they aim to capture. It supports the capture of images in RAW format, providing what the company describes as “greater flexibility” for later editing in the VSCO application.

The real-time photo effects available in VSCO Capture enable users to modify the potency, dimensions, and range of their photos. Effects such as Bloom and Halation can be applied while taking pictures. Bloom is designed to impart a “dreamy haze,” while Halation supposedly helps users achieve a “warm cinematic film glow” in real-time.

With the manual controls provided in VSCO Capture, users can switch flash modes, modify exposure settings, and alter shutter speeds based on their desired outcome. The company indicated that users can effortlessly create long exposure images with blurring effects or add a nostalgic disposable camera style to their photos. After capturing an image, it will automatically sync with the VSCO photo and video editor for further adjustments.
