Users Accuse Grok of Consulting Musk for Controversial Topics

During the presentation of Grok 4, Elon Musk stated that the ultimate goal of his company xAI is to create an «AI that strives for the truth as much as possible.» Some X users have noticed that the neural network relies on Musk’s posts on the platform.

This includes topics such as the Israel-Palestine conflict, abortion, and immigration laws.

These observations suggest that Grok 4 has been specifically adjusted to take into account the political views of the xAI leader when addressing controversial issues.

Previously, the billionaire mentioned that his startup plans to rewrite «all human knowledge» to train the new version of the chatbot, as he believes there is «too much garbage in any base model trained on uncorrected data.» AI expert Gary Marcus compared Musk’s plan to a dystopian scenario.

Subsequently, Grok became more assertive, beginning to output contentious and contradictory statements. xAI noted that they are working on removing inappropriate content.

TechCrunch inquired about Grok 4’s stance on immigration in the United States and found that the chatbot seemed to «seek Elon Musk’s views» on the subject during its thought process.

The reasoning chains produced by AI models to justify their responses are not a completely reliable indicator of how they arrive at their conclusions. Nonetheless, they are generally considered to provide a fairly accurate reflection.

Journalists have consistently found that Grok 4 draws from Musk’s opinions in its reasoning.

In its responses, the chatbot attempts to present a balanced perspective by offering multiple viewpoints on sensitive subjects. However, ultimately, it tends to express an opinion that aligns with Musk’s stance.

It’s worth noting that in July, Grok demonstrated performance superior to ChatGPT and DeepSeek in programming tasks.
