Sharks Welcome Dmitry Orlov with Two-Year Contract Announcement

General Manager of the San Jose Sharks, **Mike Grier**, announced the signing of a two-year contract with Russian defenseman **Dmitry Orlov** worth a total of $13 million.

«Dmitry is a robust, versatile defenseman who brings physicality and adaptability to the ice. He possesses considerable NHL experience in both the regular season and playoffs, and his accomplishments in the pursuit of the Stanley Cup are a valuable asset to our team. We’re excited to have him on board,» said Grier, according to the Sharks’ press release.

In the previous season, the 33-year-old Orlov played in 76 games for the Carolina Hurricanes during the regular season, accumulating 28 points (6 goals and 22 assists). During the 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs, Dmitry participated in 15 matches, recording four assists.

Throughout his NHL career, Orlov has appeared in 867 games and has tallied 327 points (76 goals and 251 assists) while playing for the Washington Capitals, Boston Bruins, and Carolina.
