Customize Your Outlook Action Toolbar for Android and iOS with a New Feature from Microsoft

Microsoft has announced a new feature that allows users to customize the actions toolbar in the Outlook email app for Android and iOS. The toolbar has been relocated from the top right corner to the bottom of the screen.

Now, when users open an email, they will see the updated toolbar at the bottom of their display. It includes various actions such as «Reply,» «Delete,» and more. Any commands that don’t fit on the toolbar can be accessed through an «Additional Options» button.

To modify the layout, users simply need to navigate to this section and drag the desired actions onto the main toolbar. This layout will then synchronize across all accounts.

However, the toolbar may adjust depending on screen size or if the smartphone is in landscape orientation. In such cases, user-selected actions that do not fit the layout may automatically be moved to an overflow menu.

The update is currently being rolled out to users running build 4.2522.0 on Android or build 4.2522 on iOS and later versions.

Previously, Microsoft addressed a problem that caused the classic Outlook email client to freeze when opening emails or composing new messages. This issue was most prevalent in virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments and affected users from all Microsoft 365 Office channels who updated Outlook for Microsoft 365 in early June.
