Samsungs Galaxy Z Fold 7: The Next Generation of Foldables Promises Unprecedented Slimness and Innovation Ahead of Launch

Last week, Samsung launched a teaser campaign for its upcoming foldable smartphones. Today, the South Korean company released a new video teaser promoting its forthcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is rumored to feature a sleek and lightweight design. It is expected that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7 along with the Galaxy Z Flip 7 during the next Galaxy Unpacked event, speculated to occur in July in New York.

Samsung Spills The Beans on The New Galaxy Z Fold

In a blog post on Tuesday, Samsung teased its next foldable device, likely designated as the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The company asserted that the latest «Galaxy Z series is the most advanced, thinnest, and lightest foldable to date». The blog features tags for «Galaxy Z Fold» and showcases a video of a smartphone with a book-style design, making it evident that the reference is to the anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 7, rather than the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

The new model is hinted to offer an Ultra-level experience. Samsung emphasized that with each iteration of the Galaxy Z series, their engineers and designers aim to enhance the devices making them slimmer, lighter, and more resilient.

Recently, various rumors have suggested that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be thinner than its current foldable counterparts. Reports indicate it may be just 3.9mm thick when unfolded and 8.9mm when folded.

For context, the previous year’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 measures 12.2mm in thickness when folded and 5.6mm when opened. In contrast, Oppo’s Find N5 stands at 8.93mm when folded and 4.21mm when unfolded. Meanwhile, Vivo’s anticipated X Fold 5 is projected to measure 4.3mm when opened and 9.33mm when closed.

Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy Z series foldables are set to be unveiled in July, with the brand likely to keep teasing various features as the official launch approaches. The Galaxy Unpacked event for these new smartphones is rumored to be held in New York.

The company is also expected to introduce a new Fan Edition (FE) version of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 slated to be launched alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 this year.
