New One UI 7 Update Leaves Samsung Galaxy A56 5G Users Stuck in Bootloop; Temporary Fix Discovered

Samsung has launched a software update for the Galaxy A56 5G that introduces quick access to Gemini — Google’s AI (AI) assistant — through the side button. Although this feature was intended to boost productivity, it has reportedly rendered many devices inoperable. Users of the Samsung Galaxy A56 5G have noted issues with boot loops following the update to the latest One UI 7 version, causing the device to freeze on the boot screen, although a temporary solution appears to exist.

Bootloop Problems on the Samsung Galaxy A56 5G

Earlier this month, Samsung released an update based on Android 15 with the build number A566BXXU3AYDK for the Galaxy A56 5G. Shortly thereafter, the community forum of the South Korean tech giant saw an influx of users reporting issues with their devices.

In one of the forum threads (reported by Dutch source GalaxyClub), a user explained their device was stuck on the boot screen showing spinning gears, leaving it unusable. Even after attempting a soft reset, the issue remained unresolved. When they tried to perform a hard reset, the recovery menu was unresponsive.

Fortunately, a temporary fix has been suggested. According to the forum discussion, ejecting the SIM card tray and then rebooting the Galaxy A56 5G resolves the problem. To implement this, the phone must be powered off prior to removing the tray. While this solution applies to users with a physical SIM card, those using eSIM can also restore functionality by bypassing the SIM password prompt.

However, it is important to note that this is merely a workaround and not a definitive solution for the bootloop issue affecting the Samsung Galaxy A56 5G.

Details on the One UI 7 Update

Samsung highlights that the update provides a fresh method for users to interact with Google’s Gemini and other virtual assistants. Instead of using the corner swipe, users can activate the AI assistant by pressing and holding the side button. This feature can be customized, and its settings can be modified through the device’s Settings menu, as per the company’s statement.

Additionally, Gemini is reported to have improved integration with Samsung applications such as Calendar, Clock, Notes, and Reminder. Users can perform various actions within these apps using voice commands via Gemini. For instance, one can inquire about a YouTube video, save items in the Notes application, or retrieve and add details of their favorite sports team’s schedule to their calendar.
