Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic Unveils Striking Squircle Design with Enhanced Features and Extra Button

Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is rumored to undergo a redesign, and we now have an initial look at its potential appearance. Recently leaked images allegedly showcase a new “squircle” shape for the smartwatch, likened to the premium Galaxy Watch Ultra, moving away from the previous round design. Although the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic will likely keep key features like the rotating bezel, it might also incorporate an extra button that could enhance its functionality.

Leak on Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic Design

In collaboration with leaker OnLeaks, SammyGuru has released 5K CAD renders of the alleged Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. This smartwatch is reportedly sized at 6 x 46.5 x 14.2mm and might feature a 1.5-inch display. Its design seems inspired by the Galaxy Watch Ultra, incorporating a round face within a square casing, resulting in the “squircle” aesthetic.

The supposed Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is said to retain well-known design traits, including a rotating crown and two physical buttons positioned on the side. The innovation could come in the form of a third button, rumored to be located between the existing two on the right side of the watch, possibly highlighted in an orange hue reminiscent of the Galaxy Watch Ultra.

The specifics regarding its functionality remain uncertain, but Samsung may implement operations similar to the Quick button found on the flagship device.

These CAD images align with prior information extracted from animated files of the leaked One UI 8 Watch, which suggested the Classic model’s return with a fresh squircle appearance and the introduction of the new Quick button. Additionally, it is speculated that it will support the extended vibration patterns from the Galaxy Watch Ultra, aimed at improving haptic feedback. The anticipated Galaxy Watch 8 Classic might be available in a single 47mm size and is expected to house a battery rated at 435mAh, potentially offering a typical performance of around 450mAh.

Further information is anticipated as the launch date for the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic approaches. It is expected to make its debut during the Galaxy Unpacked event in the summer, alongside Samsung’s upcoming foldable smartphones.
