Vondroušová Claims First Title Since Wimbledon 2023 at WTA-500 in Berlin

The 164th ranked player in the world, Czech tennis player **[Marketa Vondrousova]()**, has claimed her first title since her victory at Wimbledon 2023 by winning the WTA-500 tournament in Berlin, Germany. In the final match, she triumphed over Chinese player **Wang Xinyu** with a scoreline of 7-6 (12-10), 4-6, 6-2.

During her run at the Berlin tournament, Marketa Vondrousova defeated several notable players, including the sixth-ranked American Madison Keys (7-5, 7-6 [8-6]), 12th-ranked Russian Diana Shnaider (6-3, 6-7 [3-7], 6-3), 35th-ranked Tunisian Ons Jabeur (6-4, 6-1), along with world number one Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka (6-2, 6-4).

It’s important to mention that Marketa Vondrousova missed a large part of the 2024 season, and her best result in the 2025 season has been reaching the quarterfinals of the WTA-500 event in Dubai, UAE.
