Dmitry Guberniev: The Road to the 2026 Olympics for Russian Athletes is Closing Fast, Only a Few Will Compete

Famous Russian commentator Dmitry Guberniev shared his views on the chances of Russian athletes competing in the 2026 Olympic Games.

«The opportunity for our athletes to participate in the Olympics is quickly diminishing. In hockey, the doors have closed, and in skiing and biathlon, they were never even opened. The world is changing, but currently, we have few chances to compete in the Olympic Games, with only a handful of exceptions. Just a few will be able to go,» Guberniev stated in an interview with Championship correspondent Vladimir Chetverikov.

Previously, it was reported that the International Luge Federation (FIL) decided to exclude Russian athletes from qualifying for the 2026 Winter Olympics.

It is important to note that Russian lugers have not participated in international competitions since 2022.
