In 2025, the video game market reached a staggering $197 billion, representing a 7.5% increase compared to 2024. Notably, this is the highest figure since 2020, when the industry saw a remarkable growth of 19.6% amidst lockdowns, while subsequent years did not exceed a 2% growth rate.

In the mobile gaming sector, Tencent emerged as the top player in terms of revenue and downloads. The company owns popular titles such as Honor of Kings, PUBG Mobile, among others.

When it comes to mobile game downloads, India led the pack with 7.25 billion downloads, followed by the United States with 3.23 billion, and Brazil in third place with 2.93 billion. Russia secured the fifth spot with 1.81 billion downloads. However, it is the residents of the United States who spent the most on mobile games, totaling $23.5 billion over the year. They were followed by Chinese players, who spent $11.3 billion, and Japanese players at $9.55 billion, maintaining their positions among the top spenders.
