Эфириум на шаг ближе к масштабируемости: хардфорк Fusaka успешно тестируется Ethereum one step closer to scalability: Fusaka hard fork successfully tested

The Ethereum developers have activated the Fusaka upgrade in the Hoodi testnet. The mainnet launch is scheduled for December 3rd, as noted by ConsenSys.

Previously, the upgrade was successfully deployed in Holesky and Sepolia.

The implementation of Fusaka is planned to occur in three phases. After the upgrade is activated on the mainnet on December 17th, developers will launch an EIP that increases the capacity of BLOB objects. The second phase will commence on January 7th and will focus on further expanding their capacity.

Following that, the experts will concentrate on the upcoming Glamsterdam hard fork, which is also part of the The Surge phase of the Ethereum technical roadmap.

The aim of this upgrade is to introduce essential improvements to enhance the scalability, efficiency, and security of the second-largest cryptocurrency network by market capitalization.

In total, more than 10 EIPs will be realized during Fusaka. A key one is EIP-7594, which will introduce the PeerDAS protocol to Ethereum. This technology will allow validators to verify smaller fragments instead of whole BLOB objects, improving data accessibility across the entire ecosystem.

Co-founder Vitalik Buterin described this approach as unique, stating that PeerDAS is «the key to scaling» the L2 ecosystem.

Fusaka is also expected to more than double the gas limit on the first layer, significantly enhancing the network’s throughput. As noted by a user named Leo Lanza, after Fusaka, transaction processing speeds could reach up to 12,000 TPS.

Other important improvements include:

As of this writing, the second-largest cryptocurrency is trading around $4,000. Its price has fallen by 1.9% in the last 24 hours.

VanEck analysts believe that Fusaka will have a significant impact on Ethereum. According to them, the update «will strengthen the monetary properties of the cryptocurrency» through several key mechanisms:

«A new investment logic is forming: Ethereum is gradually transforming from an asset generating income through fees into a full-fledged currency,» the experts emphasized.

Some community members anticipate that the upgrade will push the leading altcoin to $10,000 in the current cycle. This forecast is shared by analysts at XWIN Research and BitMine chairman Tom Lee.

It is worth noting that Ethereum developer Federico Carrone warned about the dangers posed by corporations to the ecosystem of the second-largest cryptocurrency.
