Удар по Unleash Protocol: Хакер вымогает $3,9 млн через угон активов Translation: Strike on Unleash Protocol: Hacker extorts $3.9 million through asset heist.

The DeFi initiative known as Unleash Protocol has reportedly lost approximately $3.9 million due to a hacking incident, as indicated by analysts from PeckShield.

The attacker siphoned off assets, converted them, and then transferred them to Ethereum. Subsequently, 1337.1 ETH was funneled into the cryptocurrency mixer Tornado Cash.

The Unleash Protocol team acknowledged the breach. Among the stolen tokens were WIP, USDC, WETH, stIP, and vIP.

Initial reports suggest that the perpetrator gained administrative control through the multi-signature wallet, enabling unauthorized updates to the smart contract and the withdrawal of user funds.

The developers have temporarily halted all operations of the Unleash Protocol. The team is working with cybersecurity experts to uncover the specifics of the incident.

Project representatives clarified that the underlying infrastructure of Story Protocol, which the application is built upon, remained unaffected.

Unleash Protocol functions as a decentralized platform aimed at managing intellectual property. The project provides tools for registering, licensing, and trading tokenized rights to content.

As a reminder, on December 27, the FLOW token dropped 40% following the $3.9 million hacking attack.
