Брат Гарлингхаус: Наступает новая эра для криптоиндустрии в США Translation: Brad Garlinghouse: A New Era for the Crypto Industry in the U.S. Is Upon Us

The cryptocurrency sector is unlikely to revert to a hostile regulatory environment, even with a change in leadership at the White House. This was stated by Ripple’s CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, during the DC Fintech Week conference, as reported by The Block.

*»The ship has sailed. You can’t put the genie back in the bottle in the United States,»* he remarked.

Garlinghouse reminded attendees that current President Donald Trump had *promised* to make the U.S. the «crypto capital of the world» and has ties to digital assets.

The Ripple leader also criticized traditional finance (TradFi), labeling it as «hypocritical» regarding the access of crypto firms to master accounts at the U.S. Federal Reserve.

He emphasized that the crypto industry should adhere to the same standards of AML/KYC as TradFi. In return, it should be granted equal access to the financial infrastructure.

*»You can’t demand one thing and then fight against another. It’s insincere,»* Garlinghouse added.

The Ripple CEO remains optimistic about legislative developments for digital assets. He pointed out that the House of Representatives has already passed its version of a bill, and there is a competing measure in the Senate.

While the process of passing the law has slowed down, Garlinghouse has faith in a positive outcome.

*»The industry needs the clarity that Ripple has already achieved. We had to obtain it through a $150 million lawsuit and a federal judge. We believe the entire sector deserves the same clarity, and we will fight for it,»* he concluded.

To recall, on August 22, the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals *approved* the settlement between the Securities and Exchange Commission and Ripple Labs, bringing an end to the legal battle that had been ongoing since 2020.
