Ардоино: Искусственный интеллект может обрушить биткойн в 2026 году Translation: Ardoino: Artificial Intelligence Could Crash Bitcoin in 2026

A potential bubble burst in the artificial intelligence sector could have adverse effects on Bitcoin’s trajectory in 2026. This assertion was made by Paolo Ardoino, the CEO of Tether, during an episode of the Bitfinex podcast.

He believes that the leading cryptocurrency continues to exhibit a strong correlation with capital markets, making it susceptible to crashes in the stock market and the rapidly expanding AI industry, which is currently experiencing a boom due to technological advancements.

«The so-called AI bubble reflects concerns that companies involved in artificial intelligence are overspending on infrastructure and data centers, attempting to build power plants with billions of gigawatts, and hoarding graphics processors,» Ardoino noted.

Nevertheless, he emphasized that there are no other obstacles facing digital gold in the upcoming year. Its appeal is bolstered by increasing adoption by pension funds and governments. The Tether CEO predicted «the end of the era of 80% corrections» that the market experienced in 2018 and 2022.

Ardoino also holds an optimistic view toward the realm of tokenized real-world assets.

«The only drawback is that Bitcoin is primarily meant for Bitcoin. I wouldn’t want 99% of the asset to be institutionalized,» he added.

According to the head of the USDT issuer, caution should be exercised with DAT companies: they are formally regular treasury firms, and their success requires «incredible operational expertise.»

Tether, meanwhile, is among the largest partners of Twenty One, a firm focused on accumulating the leading cryptocurrency. During its debut session in December, its stocks plummeted by 20%.

«The goal of Twenty One is to become an outstanding Bitcoin company that provides asset-related services and operates a significant and vital crypto treasury,» Ardoino clarified.

It is worth noting that analysts from Bitwise and Grayscale have published forecasts indicating that the leading cryptocurrency is set to reach a new price record in 2026.
